Code of Conduct / Community Guidelines

At Srividya Foundation, we are committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and positive environment for everyone involved in our programs, events, and online communities. This Code of Conduct / Community Guidelines outlines the behavior expected from all participants, members, volunteers, employees, and visitors to ensure a safe and supportive space. By engaging with Srividya Foundation, you agree to adhere to this policy.

1. Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to:

Establish expected behavior for all individuals engaging with Srividya Foundation.
Promote respectful communication and interaction.
Define unacceptable behavior and provide a process for addressing violations.

2. Scope
This policy applies to all activities, events, and interactions associated with Srividya Foundation, whether conducted in-person, online, or through social media. It covers:

Programs, workshops, and training sessions
Online forums, chat groups, and social media platforms
Emails, messages, and communications related to Srividya Foundation activities
Interactions within the workplace or at events organized by Srividya Foundation

3. Expected Behavior
All participants, members, and visitors are expected to:

Treat Everyone with Respect: Communicate and interact with others in a kind, courteous, and respectful manner, regardless of their background, beliefs, or experiences.
Use Appropriate Language: Use inclusive and considerate language in all communications. Avoid using language that is derogatory, offensive, or discriminatory.
Engage Constructively: Contribute positively to discussions, share knowledge, and support others in their learning journey. Provide feedback in a constructive and supportive manner.
Respect Diversity: Embrace and value the diversity of opinions, experiences, and cultures within the Srividya Foundation community.
Follow Instructions: Adhere to the guidelines, instructions, and policies provided by facilitators, coordinators, or representatives of Srividya Foundation.

4. Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are considered unacceptable and will not be tolerated:

Harassment or Discrimination: Engaging in any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior based on race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

Hate Speech or Offensive Language: Using derogatory, obscene, or inflammatory language, slurs, or comments that promote bigotry, hatred, or violence.
Bullying or Intimidation: Engaging in behavior that causes fear, discomfort, or distress to others, including threats, aggressive comments, or physical intimidation.
Spamming or Disruptive Behavior: Posting repetitive, irrelevant, or unsolicited content in online forums, chat groups, or communication channels, or engaging in behavior that disrupts the activities or flow of discussions.

Sharing Inappropriate Content: Sharing or posting content that is explicit, obscene, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate for the Srividya Foundation community.
Unauthorized Sharing of Materials: Copying, distributing, or sharing Srividya Foundation’s program materials, videos, audios, or other resources without prior written consent.

5. Online Community Guidelines
For online interactions, participants must:

Stay On Topic: Keep discussions relevant to the subject matter and avoid derailing conversations with off-topic comments.
Respect Privacy: Do not share personal information about yourself or others without consent. Protect the confidentiality of participants and avoid disclosing sensitive information.
Avoid Confrontational Behavior: Engage in discussions respectfully, even when disagreements arise. Avoid escalating conflicts or engaging in personal attacks.
No Unauthorized Commercial Activities: Do not use Srividya Foundation’s online platforms to promote, advertise, or sell products or services without prior approval.

6. Reporting Violations
If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, you are encouraged to report it promptly. Reports can be made in the following ways:

Directly to the Program Facilitator or a Srividya Foundation representative present at the event or program.
Via Email: Send a detailed report to info@srividya.net, including the nature of the violation, the names of those involved, and any relevant details or evidence.
Anonymous Reporting: If you prefer to remain anonymous, you may submit a report through our online reporting form legal@srividya.net or mail us to the address mentioned at the end of this policy.

7. Response to Violations
Srividya Foundation takes all reports of misconduct seriously and will investigate any reported violations promptly and fairly. Actions taken in response to violations may include:

Verbal or written warnings
Temporary or permanent removal from programs, events, forums, or community groups
Suspension or termination of employment, volunteer agreements, or membership
Legal action if necessary

8. Protection Against Retaliation
Srividya Foundation strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports a violation of this Code of Conduct or participates in an investigation. Retaliation includes any form of intimidation, threats, or adverse actions. Any individual found to have engaged in retaliatory behavior will be subject to disciplinary action.

9. Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Srividya Foundation is committed to maintaining a respectful and inclusive environment. This Code of Conduct will be reviewed regularly and updated as needed to ensure it remains effective and relevant. Feedback from participants, members, and visitors is welcome and will be considered in future revisions.

10. Compliance with Laws
This Code of Conduct is designed to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Any behavior that violates the law will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
