Srividya is a revered spiritual tradition rooted in the ancient Vedic teachings and further illuminated by the Agama Shastras (Tantras). This profound knowledge has been passed down from Guru to disciple in various traditions.

The esoteric practices centered around the Divine Mother, Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari — Yantra (Sri Chakra), Mantra (Panchadasi) and Tantra (Srividya Sadhana) are central to Srividya Sadhana and are meticulously documented in sacred texts, including the Parashurama Kalpa Sutra. This sutra, written by Lord Parashurama under the divine guidance of Sri Guru Dattatreya.

Sri Vidya Sadhana – Kramas & Practices

Krama is the structured path of learning Srividya as outlined in the authentic Srividya manual, Parashurama Kalpa Sutra. The Kramas are various stages through which a Sadhaka gradually overcomes different aspects of life, progressing deeper into the practice. Each stage is complete in itself, providing a strong foundation, while the subsequent stage builds upon it, adding new dimensions to the Sadhana.

Sri Vidya Kramas

Note: Not all details of the advanced Kramas and their practices are disclosed here, as certain teachings are shared only at the appropriate stage of Sadhana.

Ganapathi Krama

Objective

The objective of Ganapathi Krama is to help the Sadhaka
understand the deeper forces that obstruct both material and spiritual
progress. The Sadhana helps one begin to understand
Prarabdha Karma (Prārabdha Karma) and recognize hidden
fears, insecurities, anxieties, habitual patterns and psychological
hurdles that repeatedly influence our choices and actions.

Before progressing deeper into Sri Vidya Sadhana, the Sadhaka must first
begin recognizing and working through these inner
Vighnas — obstacles.

What the Sadhaka Learns
  • Philosophical understanding of Sri Maha Ganapathi
  • Ganapathi Mantra Sadhana
  • Slokas and Suktas associated with Ganapathi
  • Nyasa and Mudras
  • Yantra and Puja practices
  • Tarpana
  • Homa

Sri Krama – Bala Sadhana

Objective

The objective of Sri Krama, centered on
Bala Tripurasundari Sadhana, is to develop greater
understanding and mastery of one’s mind and emotions.

The Sadhaka gradually begins to observe how thoughts, desires, reactions
and emotional patterns influence one’s inner and outer life. Bala Sadhana
helps prepare the mind to become steadier, clearer and increasingly
receptive to the subtler stages of Sri Vidya.

What the Sadhaka Learns
  • Bala Tripurasundari Mantra Sadhana
  • Bala Tarpana
  • Fundamentals of Mantra Japa
  • Basic Nyasa and Mudras
  • Yantra Puja
  • Introduction to Sri Chakra and its symbolism
  • Meditative practices

Shyama Krama

Objective

The objective of Shyama Krama is to bring the
mind, intellect and heart into harmony.

Through the Sadhana of Raja Shyamala, the Sadhaka
develops greater clarity, discernment and sensitivity to subtler
relationships and hidden connections within life and Sadhana.
This gradually prepares the Sadhaka to enter the more
esoteric dimensions of Sri Vidya, where intellectual
knowledge alone is insufficient.

What the Sadhaka Learns
  • Raja Shyamala Mantra Sadhana
  • Raja Shyamala Yantra
  • Puja and worship procedures
  • Nyasa and Mudras
  • Slokas and associated practices
  • Dhyana and contemplative practices
  • The deeper significance of Mantrini and Mantra Shakti

Varahi Krama

Objective

The objective of Varahi Krama is the development of
Indriya Nigraha (Indriya-nigraha) — mastery over the
sensory organs and senses.

The senses constantly draw the mind outward through attraction,
aversion, desire and habitual gratification. Varahi Sadhana develops
discipline, inner strength and self-control so that the Sadhaka is no
longer easily governed by sensory impulses.

This self-mastery is an essential preparation before entering the deeper
Sadhana of Para Krama.

What the Sadhaka Learns
  • Varahi Mantra Sadhana
  • Varahi Yantra and Puja
  • Nyasa and Mudras
  • Dhyana and visualization practices
  • Practices connected with self-discipline and inner strength
  • Deeper understanding of Dandanatha Varahi

Para Krama

Objective

After progressively working with inner obstacles, the mind and emotions,
the harmony of mind, intellect and heart, and mastery over the senses,
the Sadhaka becomes prepared to enter Para Krama.

Para Krama brings the Sadhaka into the deeper Sadhana of
Lalita Tripurasundari (Lalitā Tripurasundarī) and the
tradition of the Panchadashi Mantra (Pañcadaśī Mantra).

The earlier Kramas are therefore not separate courses or independent
Devata practices. Each Krama prepares a particular dimension of the
Sadhaka for this deeper Vidya.

What the Sadhaka Learns
  • Lalita Tripurasundari Upasana
  • Panchadashi Mantra Sadhana
  • Associated Nyasa and Dhyana practices
  • Deeper principles of Sri Vidya Mantra Shastra
  • Philosophical teachings associated with Lalita Tripurasundari
  • Teachings connected with Varivasya Rahasya
